Jamil Moledina, Games Strategic Lead, Google Play to Keynote Austin Game Conference

jamil-pr-page-keynoteThe Austin Game Conference (AGC), with presenting sponsor Electronic Arts, is proud to welcome Jamil Moledina, Games Strategic Lead, Google Play, as a 2016 keynote speaker. AGC, taking place September 21-22 at the Austin Convention center, is the longest running event dedicated to serving the needs of online game developers. Attendees receive critical insight into developing live, participatory games with real-time engagement between developers, players and spectators.

Moledina will discuss “The Next Frontier”, a new inflection point in games. Prior mobile, PC, and console models start to dissolve when gameplay, community, and new technology are tuned with a glove-like fit. The overnight success of Pokemon GO visibly resets the expectations on AR. At the same time, promising new experiences that can only be had in VR, are now emerging. Moledina will explain how Google thinks about and works with these trends, and how the company is partnering with game creators to explore the next frontier.

With 20 years of industry experience, going from GDC director to game startup CEO, Moledina now leads games strategic partnerships at Google Play to bring great games to Android platforms. This includes setting outreach strategy for curating key game segments on the store, ranging from AAA publishers to indies. Through Google Play, Jamil also manages the curation of games portfolios for nascent platforms, currently for Daydream, Google’s high performance mobile VR platform.

“Jamil and Google are uniquely positioned; with a combination of extensive game experience and keen management in growing innovative platforms,” says Austin Game Conference Executive Director Christopher Sherman. “Game developers are constantly looking to differentiate their games and provide original experiences to gamers. I look forward to hearing how Google is embracing and leading the next frontier in games.”

“Games are again a powerful force in pop culture, by bringing unique experiences to mobile, AR, and VR,” says Jamil Moledina, the Games Strategic Lead at Google Play. “We’re looking forward to connect with developers of all sizes at the conference and explore new channels to reach gamers and build successful businesses.”
